My Civil Engineering Journey at York University

I chose Civil engineering as my major at York University because I always found myself trying to deeply understand and analyze the problem without boredom until I solve it. I’m also able to study for a long period of time while maintaining my focus; I don’t feel the time when I focus on studying. In addition, in high school, I was passionate about Mechanic’s Statics subject, which is directly related to Civil Engineering. The professor of this subject inspired me and lead me to this passion. He showed me that with hard work anything would be easy. I have few strengths that can make me be successful at York University. I have the mentality to beat myself by learning more and developing.  I tend to raise my GPA from term to another.  I also like to contribute in York’s community by volunteering in events organized by Lassonde. I volunteer whenever I get the chance. I’m also an event director at Arab Student Association club. These extracurricular activities will help create connections make friends, grow as a learner, and gain confidence in the community.
